In 2017, a publicly listed global multi-national company wanted to open and develop new business channels to capture the Chinese customer. The company was already well-versed in the traditional channels for the Chinese customer through online and offline travel agencies, tour guides and corporate travel agencies.

As an industry leading expert with several decades of experience and research marketing and retailing to the Chinese customer, ITL introduced to the company an emerging technology platform, the WeChat mini-program as a new and innovative way to further expand the company’s relationship with the Chinese. The company was already familiar with the popular WeChat platform with its growing user base approaching 1B daily users and the digital wallet – WeChat Pay and Alipay. The WeChat Mini App was a new application that can be used without having to download and install it. Users can scan a QR code, or search the app name to open the application in WeChat. ITL developed a customized, real-time, state of the art ordering and payment WeChat mini-program, leveraging its large user base and providing additional convenience and purchasing options to the Chinese going to Disneyland.
