ITL conducted Asia outbound market sentiment research surveys through partnership with a major multinational OTA. The surveys were conducted to provide market intelligence on future travel forecast and guidance for measurement of post COVID Asian travel patterns for the State of Hawaiʻi. The surveys were conducted quarterly to measure the changes in travel pattern behavior over time. The surveys targeted focus groups were travelers on the OTAʻs customer database with more than three international trips taken in the last two years prior to the pandemic in their travel profile. The survey was conducted digitally and was a tremendous success with 52,000 questionnaires sent out and over 26,000 responses received. The detailed information were collated, reviewed, detailed and summarized in the report providing valuable information on the timing of marketing investment and communication with the Asian traveler to the Hawaiian Islands.
